we have launched our new website and blog!!!
check it out!!!
please follow us there…
kickstarter is the largest platform for creative projects in the world.
it is a way for us to globally promote and to grow the heel toe project.
we have launched our international call for entries in anticipation of the november exhibit at kayo gallery. the call invites people to submit images that express three things we can all relate to…life, love, and loss.
the kickstarter is a way for us to come up with more funding to help cover the cost of printing the exhibition catalog and it will help us to determine the size of the prints for the numerous submissions.
please help us to spread the word about the heel toe project!
thanks!
we are honored to have new participants eileen (we like to call her emmy) walsh, and amy harper. with them in this photo is aunt mary. please enjoy what emmy wrote us when sending along this photo…
“Your life, love and loss is so appropriate with the pictures I’ve
enclosed.
The life of my Aunt, the love we have for her and the loss she just
experienced. She was married to her husband for “58” years. He died on
Monday morning with family at his side.
I brought the boots to my sister so she could start her journey with the
boots.
Everyone asks us why we would pay $75.00 for a pair of old used boots
that don’t even fit our feet. We both replied,”that’s not the point,
the point is much greater than you will ever know.”
The picture reflects the sorrow she faces in the days to come. The boots
reflect the new life that they will take on.
As my brother and I were driving back to Utah, I made him stop multiple
times so I could take pictures. More than once, he would look at me and
say, “do you want me to turn around?” He knew by the look on my face
that it mean’t yes. I’m so excited to see how the pictures will turn
out.”
we too are so excited to see how your pictures will turn out! thanks emmy!

how about you!?!?
remember you can shoot this however you want!
we want to know who you are. what you are doing. where you go. what you love. what you have lost. we want you to take the disposable camera with you everywhere. you may miss a shot otherwise…
i can’t get over this shot from allison anderson! she is giving us a preview of one of the images she may just take with her disposable camera of her little boy henry in her boots.
remember you don’t have to fit in the boots to participate in this project you just have to want to create your own photographic essay!
another incredible article on the heel toe project!
a very big thank you to glen warchol writing for the salt lake tribune!
